Was any mention made of the Dec.72' shows? That would be a great 5-show box set.

No. With the question in regard to November '72 he responded by mentioning how with three Sept. '72 releases out there that "Oct.- Nov." was certainly due for a release. That's where the St. Louis Fox Theatre performances in mid-October rolled off his tongue immediately. With respect to the question he talked briefly about the Midwest shows leading up to the swing through Texas in November, and that's where he mentioned the thing about no 11/19.
December came up not at all but I hear ya.

That's a shame because there is nothing of note on any of those 3 St. Louis shows to warrant a release, any of the Nov. shows sans 11/14 and possibly 11/12 (unlistenable due to mix we have available) would be preferable.I hold out hope that down the line the powers that be would see that the Dec. run was a unique chunk of GD history with the band at it's peak and should be represented by a box set.

All 5 of the December 72 shows would have been a much better box set than spring 1990...I'd take even partial shows with cuts over 1990. Damn shame.

Well,I rarely listen to anything past 78' so I certainly don't have any interest in releases after that, but I understand they have to be open to the entire span of the bands career. What really confuses me is when they put out a weak show from the bands strong years like the first 4 Dave's Picks,I can't see what made any one of them release worthy.
-DP 1-
Promised Land was the only exceptional performance from the entire show.
-DP 2-
To Lay Me Down was the lone highlight.
-DP 3
There wasn't a single special performance from the 10/22 show, the Dark Star from the bonus disc was the only reason to listen to this release.
-DP 4-
The newest has nothing exceptional on it at all.

So I would be thrilled with a Dec. 72' box which was overflowing with brilliant versions of their more challenging material.
